yes you can use it BUT you must remember to flush it out REAL GOOD with fresh water or the Alum will deterate and the cast iron will eventually do the same.

If you posted a link for the pump then it is gone now. Depending on it's capacity you may be able to find a bilge pump to equal it and their primary use is for salt water.

harbor freight is cheaper. though I don't know about shipping to AK

a friend of ours had it and he gave it to us. he had no use for it anymore.

Well, your set then keep it clean.

you will not find an equivalent bilge pump. they don't exist.

To get close would be a 220v transfer pump and you would need a generator.

The cover comes off of the impeller housing easily.

Pump freshwater through it for a bit. remove cover rinse more. let it air try , put it back together.

Any pump can be used for salt water service, it just has a shorter lifespan.
Salt water is corrosive and it will seep into the bolt holes and crevices, dry out and expand and eventually break the aluminum castings. The steel parts will rust and corrode and flushing religiously will only slow this process, not stop it.
This is a low end pump, run it until it falls apart then get a new one.
