San José, Panama. 1631?

1631's San José document

Hey Claudio, the San Jose the everybody wants sank in 1708, not 1631. The 1631 Almiranta sank in Panama, not Colombia. Propwash blowers will not work in 750' deep waters. The article laments about the loss of cultural heritage. Well, where do you think the cultural heritage is now? Can you see it?

Pete, I was on the sea reaper when it was in Key West. Great boat and great Captain.
I also saw video of the coins from the san jose. They were scattered all over the bottom in diveable water.
I was told that the ship hit a reef a d traveled over 15 miles before they found the coins

The 64 gun Capitana San Jose blew up and went down in 1708 between Isla Del Tesoro and Baru Island in deep water. She had an estimated 12 million peso's in treasure on board. The urca of Francisco Nieto drifted and ran aground on the tip of Baru Island. This could be the wreck that Sea Reaper found.

Pete, I believe the 1708 San Jose that blew up. Was in the Caribbean. The 1631 San Jose that Jack Haskins was after and the one the Sea Reaper crew found is in the Pacific.

We are talking about another San José, shipwrecked in Panama, Garachiné shoal, year 1631.

In 2003, SEA HUNT signed an agreement with the Ministry of Culture of Spain, all as provided by UNESCO. They never could work!!

Discredit the signing agreement was one of the reasons for organizing a police farce against several people in 2005-2006, including me. Be very careful with the galleons!

For the uninitiated, the matter SEA HUNT - JUNO & GALGA, began the decline of treasure hunters. The decisions were taken at the highest levels. Odyssey Marine was no stranger to the game. In fact, when the problem began for SEA HUNT, Odyssey appeared in Spain in 1998 (coincidence? No!)

Thanks for the Link.
It looks like it unesco could screw up a Pollock`s picnic. I wouldn't blame Pirates to start working the High seas again.

Right on ,Pete :skullflag:
