In my opinion, the current value of the cargo on the galleon San José does not exceed $700-800 million. It should not be forgotten that this ship had not yet loaded the wealth of Cartagena (Colombia) that used to be bulky in gold, because as it is known, the San José came from Portobelo (Panama) to the port of Cartagena de Indias.
