Santa Monica Mtn. Prospecting

Hi all,

I'm working in Malibu today off of decker canyon and mulholland hwy and see lots of geology that could lend itself to prospecting. I am by the la county Ventura border. Has anyone ever prospected or has heard of gold in the canyons in and around Malibu. Any help would be appreciated, I would've prospected but I was working.
