Ridley,
Great ring. I'll trade you 100 lbs. of old farm iron for it. What do you say? ;D
You must really have a hot spot, as you come up with some good finds.
Congrats.

I've hunted the location where I found that ring at least 50 times before. I'm not on a roll. At one time that same place used to drive me crazy, because I was swinging too fast and just meandering around on it.

Ever since I slowed down my swing and detect in a straight line all the way across from two fixed points, ten times the stuff comes out. (including trash).
It's worked for me in 5 or 6 different locations!

If you've never used that technique, you should definitely try it. I figured it out by hanging around here by the way. ;)

Ridley,
Thanks for the tip.

Let's see.....
pull tabs = rings.....
Ok, got it now.....
if I dig enough tabs, take to recyclers for cash to BUY ring!

LMAO
Never thought of it that way but I am saving my pulltabs from here out

I don't mind digging up pull tabs. They're like little underground markers that tell me I haven't hit that ground yet.

MM, I only discriminate the iron. What happened was.

A few people mentioned how they found something on the walk back to their car while leaving the detector on. That happens to me all the time too. So I slowed my swing down to that same speed and walked in a straight line.

Then I slowed it down even more. Like slow motion. That's when all kinds of coins came out. The trick is to fix on a tree or fence post and walk toward it in an absolute straight line.
You can criss cross the same area from different angles and find even more.

Even if you don't get any tones right away. Have faith sooner or later (beep).

It seems like it takes longer at first, but (I) at least am finding twice the stuff twice as fast. In locations I'm already familiar with.

If you try it let me know how it works!
