Saturday's CW Finds

Things are slowing down at the ol' campground, just finding the small items now. Some pistol lead and a nice Eagle Wast Coat Button with some gold left on it. Found another one, but the front just fell apart in my hand. The square nail is odd, maybe a home made hook of some kind? HH MO

Some very nice digs there. Since you found some carbine bullets, was it a cavalry site? If so, the nail could have been used as a hoof pick. HH!!

Yes, it is a Cav Camp. I found a Carbine Sling buckle and my huntin' bud found part of a spur there yesterday.

Some very nice digs there. Since you found some carbine bullets, was it a cavalry site? If so, the nail could have been used as a hoof pick. HH!!

Nice finds and the button is cool. We have found several of those bent nails inknown battle areas and I am begining to wonder if they werent a homemade J hook for a knapsack ...possibly a replacement when the original was lost...
