Yesterday I was walking down to the local garage to pick up my car. I was walking by a vacant lot that they have been dumping fill on for years. Every time they dump some fill dirt, they bulldoze it flat again. The ground was nice and flat, but no grass was growing, so I decided to walk over it thinking I might spot a marble that washed out. Well there were lots of bits of white china and some cork top bottle necks circa 1900. Then I see a base of a bottle flush with the ground and pull it out expecting it to be broken....but it wasn't!! It was an intact circa 1910 Carters Ink bottle.
This bottle survived getting dug up, hauled off, dumped, and ran over by a bulldozer!! Since they are advertising to sell and develop the ground, it's days were numbered. I was happy to save it
