Fridays are slow, so I thought I'd take a bike ride out to a big open space with some small ponds and a lake. In the 1st picture I spotted a Bald Eagle sitting in this plains cottonwood and you'll need to zoom in to see where it's sitting. I snuck in on IT, for a closer shot, but I didn't want to make IT, too nervous and then fly away, so I didn't try and get real close. IT, was wondering what heck I was up to and I took a couple zoomed in shots and then left it alone. This bike trail takes me up just outside the town of Broomfield, Colo and I then loop around a little pond on a hill where a Muskrat came up for one shot only and then submerged soon after. It was a nice day that didn't go higher then temperatures in the 70's, which was rather nice.

Maybe Chris can tell me if this Eagle is M or FM ?? I don't know the difference :dontknow: so I call it, IT!

Males and females look the same. If both birds are at the nest, the female is usually the bigger bird.

Nice pictures. I would like to throw a hook into that water.

Great photos! Do you ever fish that pond?
I haven't gone fishing there, but talking to people there who were said they catch bass and bluegills mostly.

Tamrock, beautiful pic's indeed. Thanks for sharing these with us. I really like the shot of the Bald Eagle. These are so cool to see out in the wild and are so majestic looking. You can usually easily tell the Female from the Male if you look closely. The Female will be the one telling the other (Male) what to do.:icon_thumright:

Did you folks hear that at the 911 memorial service yesterday an Eagle came to roost on the bucket of a NYFD fire truck, as if presiding over the ceremony. For those of us who "Stood Up" that's a pretty poignant moment!

Some people may not like Busch's successor, but he killed the worst enemy I ever had!
