Still eating up the hammere'd. Two more today, a cut quarter Henry III, 1247-72. The small full one has the glare of Henry VIII, 1509-47, peering through the mud. Should clean up well. Two nice medieval cloth seals, a medieval lead token. And best of all a Saxon clothes fastener 8th/9th century.

Robert.

so some of the fashion trends of the long gone past, really cool item, but they all are as usual

Outstanding finds ! Can't wait to see how your year unfolds -

So many wonderful treasures! :D

Killer find the Saxon fastener is Rob, I'd take that over a hammie any day. I really like digging anything Saxon it really warms up the heart.

don't give up, there are many more hoards over there

Here's a pic of the coin cleaned a little. I've only washed it. It's a penny from the reign of Edward VI, 1547-51. In the name of Henry VIII. The mint is London. This issue can be extremely debased silver, and would not respond well to electrolysis. For the issue type, this is a good example.
