Another glorious day with even less layers needed :icon_sunny: (5 hour hunt)
Today we got something we hoped for & only ever target 1 a year to achieve - Saxon Sceat :headbang: Circa 700 AD I also got a perfect circa 8th-9th C Clothes Fastener with a still sharp hook, plus Dad got the base of a 6th C Cruciform Brooch & I got the middle section of one :headbang: Another stunning day for Saxon :) Nearly our yearly total in 3 outings.

Dad found our most complete example of a Elizabethan (1550-1600) Sword Belt Hanger :icon_thumright:

Others finds included:
1 Roman Coin
Hammered Stirling Imitation of Ed I (plus a broken fragment) :)
Some Jettons
Livery Buttons
17th C Halfpenny Token
Lead Token
Rose farthing
Ancient piece of Bronze Ring
:blob7: :blob7: :blob7:

Waited for Your post Cru... Another outstanding hunt! The sceat is a beauty, hammered is always nice, the sword hanger from a plowed field :blob7: and neolithic flint. Very old ground....

Weather is really nice here at the moment. and the detecting conditions are perfect!
l like the Sceat you found, a rare find indeed. l have never ever found one. Hutch.

Another successful hunt in the books. You amaze me the way you come back with a pile of relics every time out. That's a combination of great sites and hard hunting. Congrats again!

:headbang:

Not a bad day at all :laughing9: a lot more to come from that field I'm sure :o Saxon finds are my favourite, managed a styca myself today :icon_thumleft:

Is the sceat silver? If so it should clean up better, don't you think, even as it is, should be BANNER!!!! :headbang:

What is the other piece of silver next to the hammered?

What a great field, 20 + coins in one outing, plus all the great relics, when can I go? Do you have more fields untouched like that one?
Congrats on a fantastic research and great grid ding!

Cheers

Yes solid silver, but leaving as is.

Its a broken hammered Sixpence :icon_thumright:

It's not untouched, but the competition needs a lesson :D
