Another glorious day with even less layers needed :icon_sunny: (5 hour hunt)
Today we got something we hoped for & only ever target 1 a year to achieve - Saxon Sceat :headbang: Circa 700 AD I also got a perfect circa 8th-9th C Clothes Fastener with a still sharp hook, plus Dad got the base of a 6th C Cruciform Brooch & I got the middle section of one :headbang: Another stunning day for Saxon :) Nearly our yearly total in 3 outings.

Dad found our most complete example of a Elizabethan (1550-1600) Sword Belt Hanger :icon_thumright:

Others finds included:
1 Roman Coin
Hammered Stirling Imitation of Ed I (plus a broken fragment) :)
Some Jettons
Livery Buttons
17th C Halfpenny Token
Lead Token
Rose farthing
Ancient piece of Bronze Ring

I bet you're not detecting these at all, you simply get in your time machine and hit the ancient flea markets!
Great saves..love the hammereds!

True, them damn time machine hunts just get in the way of a weekend out with the parent :P

I always wondered if you guys do research. I would bet you have a good chance to just walk the fields and find the goodies with all of the years of history over there. Awesome finds!

Plenty of research but at this time of year you are forced to do whatever patch you can. We tried 4 large fields recently with next to nothing in them, this one just happened to be a good one & we had already spotted where to go on the aerials  If you would like a bet or just want to try that approach, then you need a lot of luck :laughing9:

awsome finds mate, hope to see more cool stuff

Outstanding! I just am bowled over with the goodies you dig.

Think how much fun detectorists will have in the U.S.A. 1,300 years from now. :icon_thumleft:

Looking for pre 1964 coins, of course. :D

A Roman Silver would be a little too much to hope for. Dad & I have had none so far this year with a combined hunt of 150 hours. Even on some of the best Roman Sites that we target they can be difficult.
Depending on the time of year, farms available & permissions it might be possible to try a couple of spots.

Counterfitting the US Pennies again Cru! Shame on you, you did not look carefully, a silver piece fell into the stamping machine. No problem, send the photo to the FBI.
Very nice sceat however, and the other finds are just great too. (many buttons again)

exllent finds keep up the good work.
