I took another walk around the new site I mentioned in yesterdays post. I found some promising looking places to detect once the rain and snow stops in a few days. I was poking around under the crawl space of the old house and found this cool 1952 NC license plate in pretty good shape. I found a bottle dump and searched through it and found this whiskey bottle. It had some kind of gooey gunk in the bottom and it took me at least 2 hours to get it out and cleaned up for the photo. It says " The Hayner Distilling Co Distillers" "Dayton Ohio & St. Louis MO" on the front. On the bottom it says "Design Patented Nov 30th 1897" The top had a cork. I can't wait to get out there and do some MDing!

HAYNER DISTILLING CO.
Dayton, OH.
1866-1918

Very, very nice.

If the whiskey bottle has no statement embossed on it about federal law prohibiting its reuse, it either has to be pre-prohibition or produced after 1964. I am thinking it is the former. That and the plate are definitely keepers! :notworthy:

Joe,
Two very cool finds. I'm not sure which one I like best.
Congrats,
Doug
