Lady at bank called today to tell me the 5 2009 silver eagles from one of their other branches were in for me if I wanted them for 29.95 each which of course i did! Asked about special occasion ones they had for 30 but were cleared out all had were 6 communion ones for 35 each which I passed on. HH all!

Smaller local area banks they have few branches but not big name banks. They are ones that come in airtite think right term and also come in fancy case that opens and has little paper inside telling about them. Coins of America is where they order from pretty sure

dude what part of the country are you in? Banks around Chicago wants $50 plus for them! One small bank called today and said they could order some for me for $57 plus $6.50 for freight.

I am in Iowa. They didn't change prices because of silver going up just stayed at prices from when they came out. The 2011 s are over 50. Some got before from them were even less like 21.95 24.95 etc. Off top of head most paid for any they had was 35 for 2009 eagle. Wish they had more of course! Want to buy or trade for 2005 for my son since year he was born got my daughters year born 2008.

How can the bank charge you more then face value? I never heard of it. Any silver I buy from a bank is face value

These are collectible/bullion silver eagles. It's kind of like when you buy proof or uncirculated sets .

Like I said, I never saw a BANK around here sell collector coins at collector prices, just face value.

What would the face value of a 1 troy oz of silver SAE be? There is no denomination on the coin.

Congrats! Yes, it seems the small type banks purchase those (and silver rounds) for customers. At one of my smaller banks, the teller this week spent at least 45 minutes with me going over individual silver rounds. I had seen your post and remembered an old case they had for display. I bought most. Was very hesistant to buy those that did not have the .999 stamp. The teller later called me and said the .999 was on the side of the rounds--they were encased. She is holding them for me.

Just tells ya an ol' dog can learn new tricks just by reading the posts!

Stopped by one of those small town banks and saw 09' 10' 11 eagles in the show case. I was feeling good till I saw the price tag $58 for the 09 & 10 and $54 for the 11. I might have to sneak into your territory to snag a couple if you do not mind.
