Sorting some buckets and boxes noticed the tear drop shapes the 10:00 piece is hafted,call them what ya want tools .

Thankyou for replys I really enjoy finding this stuff story tellers so to speak of a way of life so long ago maybee to often overlooked or tossed since not a fancy point or hardstone piece ?

I love the un-hafted blades, blanks, and scrapers like that. Also the heavy duty chopers. These first 2 pics are personal finds. The last pic is some I've bought. They are usually very cheap to buy as most people don't care for "the rough stuff".

You've got a very sharp eye for these kinds of things, Trout!

I have a few pieces that I've picked up different places that I think are "roughs". Mostly, I notice them when I find a piece that the type of material doesn't match the area I'm in.

regarding your 1st picture and the point that is at the 5 o'clock position. the tip is black is that from a fire or just natural ? i have a point with the same type of marking. thanks for shareing.

Mad Co Walker I would say its stained from the creek it came from, decaying leaves in the fall which makes the water tannic and the lighter colored stones seem to absorbed the discoloration in the water have some others stained similar .That piece has a snap I wounder if it had another life? whats yours look like?

ive got alot ready to post so when i can get time ill post them. mine is more of a knife and was a river bank find.
