on the sovereign (BBS) if You raise the coil off the Ground
you Loose twice the depth.& Disc Accuracy

Is this the same with FBS ?

I Don't seem to find anything but cans & Shallow Clad
in high Grass areas.

Also

Recovery - DEEP ?

Do I Need to change my Habbits when using deep ?

Swing slower ? Faster ? Change any other settings ?
Does Deep, realy give more depth ? or
just change what I hear now on deep coins ?

Jeff

I am NO expert. But I will say that if you have deep on you should slow your swing down quite a bit. Baldingboy and I have hunted together a long time. When he switched to the Explorer he was not finding anything at the beginning. When he finally listened to me and slowed down, way down, he started finding stuff.

I think deep changes how the machine processes signals so it takes slightly longer for the machine to register the signal.

Hope that helped at least a bit.

IronPatch would be another good person to check with too....

Can say exist some depth drop, but if you use Pro coil not much you can do because to much to catch grass and etc. buy old style explorer coil 1000 or 1050, but try different because some are better then others.old style coils you can drag on the ground. second DEEP switch off, my suggestion raise GAIN 9 or 10 it will work better, but minus you will not know how deep target is, for me is not the problem because I use big shovel, but what situation in USA dont know. use manual sensitivity for start to 24, but lower it in high trash --in IRON, use as little as you can discrimination or best dont use at all, go to FERROUS -in my opinion explorers dont work good with discrimination or dont work good enought, in iron even more important not to use discrimination, forget about any programs or patterns!!!--they dont work, main point keep coil low and go slow between iron, when you have spot swing coil from different direction, from one you will get some signal from another not if target between iron. dont scare lower sensitivity in high contamination with iron places you will lose more then gain, but if you will use high be very slow and try to catch the signal -try different direction-angles. to be good in iron- Pro coil is not the best to much likes IRON. another secret is NOISE CANCEL make it manually -in iron try channel 1 but if you will start to pick up more iron like good signals switch to channel 11. use Koss ur 30 headphones, they are best for sound, but for construction tragic. good luck

Just add- AUDIO 1, on SE smooth? if you finished in iron with audio NORMAL try to use AUDIO 1.

Explorer doesn't like air because it doesn't like targets near as much in a fresh plowed field. Raise your gain to max and slow your feet down when around trash... and it just makes sense that you can't run with any detector and hear the fringe stuff.

It's as much about experience as settings and how you use it. The more hours you have in the more it all starts to click. I hunt disturbed ground so would never get the depth some people can with targets that have had a halo build up from 100-300 years. So I get decent depth but won't be breaking any records.
