Searching for Treasure Hunting "Bachelor"

A couple days ago, I received an email from the producers of the TV show "The Bachelor". They're considering featuring a treasure hunter / adventurer on a future series, (possibly next year) and asked me if I'd be interested!

Well, first, I'm not an exhibitionist, and second, I'm taken. :-) They asked me if I knew anyone out there that might be interested in auditioning. I told them that I would do what I could to help locate an eligible treasure hunting bachelor.

So, if you know anyone who's single, good looking, and (hopefully) a successful treasure hunter, please let me know, and I'll forward their name(s) to the producers.

I've since chatted with them on the phone - I have to say, that was one of the most interesting emails I've received since TreasureNet's inception!

I was feeling so good about myself when I got this personal e-mail from the webmaster at treasure net, informing me about the search for a handsome, successful, treasure hunter.. I'd like to see a New Mexico man get this honor, Shattuck. I don't know much about you except you are opposed to throwing out your trash on the side of the road, but for me that counts as better looking than Robert Redford, although I'm probably not the best judge of what a good looking man looks like I've been told by ex-wife and ex-lady friends (I used to think I was a middling good looking fellow when you could still see my face minus the wrinkles and face furniture). However, Shattuck, if all this hoopla means every female who watches television is going to be crawling through the bushes with a butcherknife in her teeth trying to get your scalp, I'd suggest you smile perlitely and decline with thanks, robbing our fair state of honor, but saving yourself a lot of learning experiences.

Sounds like another lame attempt at a survivor type game show.
As far as I'm concerned, there are already enough of us out there right now. Once a reality show like this hits the airwaves there will be all kinds of idiots with brand new detectors running around asking "Did you find anything?" , "What's your best find?", "Did you find my Rolex yet?". Kiss your detecting spots goodbye as they make new rules to handle the crowds of idiots with detectors!
The white's commercial was bad enough, now we have to be humiliated more with some stupid Hollywood production that will just help the sellers of detectors and Hollywood Producers line their pockets more at the expense of our hobby. I'm for telling these folks to go suck eggs and look elsewhere for an unusual story. Just my take on it. 8)

That's the reason Shattuc is the best candidate. The whole state of New Mexico is a good detector site and it's too far from anywhere to give much helpful info to anyone close enough to use it. But you make some good points, coinshooter.

My suspicion is that no game show is going to pry the posteriors of TV watchers off the couch and get them outdoors having a life in any case.
