Last night they aired a special hosted by Matty Blake: "The 5 top moments from Rick and Marty". One of them was the Templar cross. And of course the top moment is the Billy Gerhardt truckload of silver.

There exist NO EVIDENCE that the Templars had vessels capable of such a voyage across the Atlantic, nor is there any documentation that such a voyage occurred to hide an alleged treasure on Oak Island- only alternative speculative pseudo-history by modern day pulp authors and television programs.
With that stated, do you believe that piece of lead was of Templar origin, and if so, how did arrive on Oak Island?

There is ZERO reason to even speculate that the cross shaped piece of lead is old. Even less it had anything to do with the Templars. This is shown by the excavation of Smith Cove. The structures there were built in mid 1700s. Any land on top of those structures must of accumulated there after this time. Therefore the piece of lead must of been deposited later.

There is nothing that supports the Laginas assertions of the lead being anything else. There is nothing to associate this with the KT except a passing similarity to a piece of old graffiti on an old prison.

In a latter episode they found more lead from a piece of furniture and claimed their testing showed it from the same source. This would seem to support someone finding some more of that lead on the island an melting it down to make sinkers.

The Laginas have found nothing that supports the idea that the KT visited OI and are simply making things up and telling lies. They do not have a single credible source/historian/archaeologist that supports there ridiculous claim.

That is pretty sad TV and strong proof that the treasure hoard of OI does not exist...

The Templar cross was tested by Geochemist Tobias Skowronek using Laser Oblation. It was confirmed to come from an area where medieval mining took place, which dates it 1300-1500. There are many remaining questions, but it is reasonable to speculate that the Templar cross is old.

No that is a claim of the lead. Not the cross it could of been melted from more of the found lead on the island from the same source (This is their own show that claimed the other lead was from exactly the same place). This is more plausible then a piece of furniture from one of the old buildings having exactly the same lead as that from a KT jewelry from hundreds of years earlier.

On top of this as stated earlier the lead object was found buried in recent soil not soil from the age of the KT which were over 700 years ago.

It NEVER been verified by professionals that the found lead item was a cross or that it was connected to the Templars.
That is an unreasonable speculation totally based on wishful force fitting an unproven belief to support the currently promoted pet theory.

The 'cross' was turned up just after Rick Lagina had been chauffeured over to France to view carvings of a particular shape in an old prison said to be carved by the Templars with their teeth (yep, that is what was said).

One might suspect being directed to look at certain shapes then being presented with something of a similar shape so you 'recognise' it is a bit too co-incidental and suspect.

Why is why the Laginas had a meeting with the production crew and made it known if they discovered the lead thing had been planted by one of them then they would be pulling out of the show.

The cross was found close to the water. They speculated at the time that the rough sea had churned up the shore or either it was brought in from further out over the winter from bad storms.. My guess is one maybe it was planted, it's possible or they actually found the cross first but filmed Rick overseas in that prison and aired it first to be able to tie it together for the viewers...

and just because their have been other items found from the same area the lead came from doesn't mean the lead was melted down and made on OI. Sure it is possible but they may have just been brought over from the same people on the same ship from the same area in Europe...

I asked if there was any evidence of the lead item being fake and planted. You all start spouting about knights templar. They can have and present any wild theory they want. As can all of you. That doesn't mean they didn't find it there and that it isn't old. So again, do you have proof that the lead cross was newly fabricated and planted, or not?

Also, just because they showed the trip and the discovery of the cross in a seemingly chronological order, does not mean that they stepped off the plane and into the swamp and found it 10 minutes later. The show is edited in case you didn't know how that works.

I realize google is not the end all be all of information, but you can do an image search for things like "old lead fishing weight" "antique lead fishing weight" and the like, and not find one that looks like that. This does not mean we have to believe that knights templar carved a picture of one with their teeth on a wall, then immediately sailed to oak island and buried one. But its not unreasonable to ask the question.....could it be?

As you have figured out there is NO EVIDENCE that it was planted or that it was a fishing weight.. That is why they went into all the other crap that doesn't pertain to your question. Granted doesn't mean that it wasn't but.........

I added my tid pit of where it was found as someone before was saying that all the dirt piled on top means it came earlier or something another and I wanted to remind everyone that it was found close to shore and at high tide or a storm surge was under water...
