Hello All,
I just had a wild week! Take a look at these finds--handful of seated silver coins, civil war relics!! Seemed like every site had at least one good keeper. Sometimes it took 8-9 hours of heavy hunting to find it though!!
OK so the hunts started out with digger girl (my wife) finding a beautiful eagle cuff button (see the video below) as well as eyeballing a bone die!

Here's the video:
Here are some highlights:
An 185? (dateless) half dime dug by Shane:

A seated half dime and a holed dime from what we call "the holed coin site" (which has given up ONLY holed half dimes and dimes, and one dime which was cut in half a few weeks ago!). This was the only coin holed in a decent place (top one below). All the others were holed in the middle!

Also got this KILLER trigger guard (M1858 Army/Navy Remington Revolver)

Then Shang and I stumbled on an oooold sugar mill site. Brick everywhere, and iron nails DENSE all over it! We spent 7-8 hours there pounding the earth with our coils and the only find was an eyeball find!

A New York cuff button! So we KNEW the troops were in there... So even though the finds were almost nil, I came back the following day to hit it some more. Spent another 8 hours listening intently to try and pull something out of the iron nails. Got a Shield nickel, then a Smith carbine bullet
Then I got an 86 signal, bouncing, on the F75. Out of a deep deep hole flopped THIS:

A BEAUTIFUL 1858-O SEATED HALF!! I let some profanities fly on the video when this flipped out. Sorry!

Persistence Paid Off.
Happy Hunting,
Buck
