A member from CHN just gave me a link to the medal:

www.coins.nd.edu/WashToken/WashTokenText/1889.html

Mine is made of the soft metal. Must be rare as they say they don't survive.

Sorry for keeping you guys hangin'. Had to get dinner started first.(Priorities).

Went out with D-Dub today at an old Chicago park, and he struck first again with a Stellar pocket spill if you will! CONGRATS Bud!

Then I told D-Dub I knew of a spot that was old, but was flooded the first time I went out there. Well to say the least, we are DEFINATELY going back there as we only hunted there for about an hour before we had to go.

The first solid signal I dug was a solid 12-45 @ 8 inches. I dug it up and thought BARBER, but then I looked at it and thought to myself, "Man this Barber looks funny" :icon_scratch: When I finally realized what I had in my I called over to D_Dub, and he knew exactly what I had......YES Ladies and Gentlemen....I FINALLY got my f****n seated in way of an 1888 dime!

A few wheaties later, I found this unique find...1789-1889 Centenial commemorative coin. Thing is awesome. Size of a silver dollar!

I ended my day with the '45 Merc in decent shape.

Well, Lookn4seated is still looking for seated, but needs to up his anty and change his name. I told twistidd that by changing my screen name will bring me positive energy, and it sure did. Now my new name may be BustYOa*s, or Lookn4LargeC. Any ideas?
UPDATE: I guess i'm gonna stick with Lookn4seated, just has a nice ring to it, and maybe I'll find another soon.

Enjoy the pics everyone! Man was today a great day for me.

OMG, Jon!!! :o

I'm speechless!!!!   :icon_king:

Any one of those finds would have been a good hunt!

I hope you walked around with it and shined the light reflecting off of it into your pop's eyes! ;D

And to think that all I did today was rehunt my mom's yard for three lousy memorials... :-\

Maybe I should change my name... Something not too original so I don't have to think too hard. I know - Lookin4Half-Dime!! ;D

I'm soooo happy for you!

Thanks Neil!

I had my finger on the dial button twice after I found it to call you, but then I said, 'ehh, I'll wait to post it on here. Sooo exciting man. My heart was punding for a good 10 minutes after I found it. I really couldn't believe it. I almost still don't believe it. I keep looking at it. ;D

Greats finds Jon and welcome to the Seated club! :hello2:

Your token commemorates 100 years of Washington taking his oath to office., not Chicago. But it was probably mfg there. I see it has April 30 in the center...

On April 30, 1789, George Washington, standing on the balcony of Federal Hall on Wall Street in New York, took his oath of office as the first President of the United States.

Now I need to join the Large Cent club, Bust club, 3c pc club, etc....Oh man, I have so many more clubs to join. ;D

awesome finds there seated!

Congrats on the first seated. It's a NICE one :headbang:

Congrats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you called I just had a feeling that you found one.....
It was a blast just hearing you talk about it......
Like I said on the phone, your going to have to change your name......

I'll post a tread.......... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Way to hunt out that Seated today Jon. You were looking bummed when you got skunked at that first park. I bet your glad you thought of that grove on the way back.

We will DEFINITELY be going back there. Hopefully the drunk serenading hermanos won't be there next time :D

Congratulations on your first seated!!! Cool Washington item and nice sharp merc also. What a great hunt!

Yeeah boyee you guys did it!
Congrats! I'd hold out on the rename thing, until you become FTG, (Found The Gold!)

Way to go seated. When I read "man this barber looks funny" I thought the same thing when I got my first seated last weekend. It is not as in nice of shape as yours but it is a 1876cc. It is a great feeling when you realize what it is. Congrats. :hello2: :hello2: :hello2: TMAN...

EXCELLENT

Jon, whatabout "Lookn4MOREseated"? ;D

Welcome to the seated cat also TMan! Too bad it was the 1876 and not one a few years earlier with that precious CC mint mark. A few years back when Mikelb started detecting we hit Freeport and I told him to hunt a spot where the sidewalk had just been removed, his first signal was an 1876 CC also!

Congratulations, Seated.
She is a pretty one as well.

Jon,

Congratulations on the beautiful seated dime!! I have a feeling this year is going to be very good to us all. We should still get together sometime, still haven't met you or d-dub.

Thanks!
Most definately. Maybe the four of us can get out on a hunt soon, or more of us. We'll have to hit up the beaches soon too with the Excal's.
