Seated quarter, gold and copper

Had a great time detecting/panning Yesterday and this morning! Found some gold panning, a seated silver quarter, and some native copper nuggets, one of them being pretty big! I was bummed out i had some mercury in my gold pan.... but at least im finding gold with it!!! Thanks for looking!!

great bunch of finds and very nice scenery pics. I've always wanted to visit Montana, the postcard pics make it seem pretty amazing Congrats on that seated quarter and gold finds! The other relics are cool and that V nickel is nothing to sneeze at! Good stuff!

Looks like a great time to me. That mercury looks like it is amalgam - mostly gold or possibly copper as it sticks good to that too. Look in gold prospecting sections for how to clean it off. Nuggy

I've never seen such angular amalgam before. It might be mostly gold with a thin mercury covering. Good luck!

Yep Mercury on gold,as you know keep it away from the rest of your gold!!
It looks like punch coins?Are they?

Yeah, its REALLY worn and i cant seem to get a good pic of it... ill try and have my mom take a pic if i can, she gets closeups of flowers and stuff..so maybe she can help me out. It had writing all over it, but it is so worn i can only make out R. E. Stallard on it, and a strange building on the frount. More later on it if i can!
