After 8 months & hundreds in clad I finally found my first wilver coin!!!
I was going through the motions at a nearby park the other night with my ace250 when I got a good coin signal. When I dug the coin I put my light on it.. It was an 1876cc Seated Liberty Quarter!!! I was surprised to say the least.
It looks like I nicked the back of the coin w/ my shovel, which doesn't bother me, lesson learned i guess. I would however like to attempt to remove the crud covering lady liberty on the front, I just think it would look nicer and I don't plan on selling it. So if anyone has experience removing that build up on a silver coin I would appreciate any knowledge you could share. thanks!

Hope to find more wilver and I will share it if I do. hh!
***UPDATED***
Decided the black crud covering the front was too much an eyesore, so I risked cleaning the coin. I used electrolysis in an attempt to remove the build up.
I thought it turned out well and was happy with the results. Here are some before/after pictures.

Thanks for looking. hh
