Hello everyone. Haven't posted in awhile because of work and all the other things that keep me busy. I got a couple new permissions last week. I spent an hour at one last Sunday but the grass was high and the owner said it would be cut this week. I did manage to find a couple keepers. I went back this afternoon for about an hour and a half. He was right on because the grass was cut. It's three city lots but one is a small gravel parking lot. I can see where a house used to be in the middle lot. I take off where I left off from the last time. I have gotten some good tones but most of it is old copper pipe pieces and other things from the torn down house. These lots are the very reason I use a 5x8 coil. I haven't found a lot of coins but did manage to pluck a 34 wheat. I got another good tone bouncing around low to mid-80's. Pop the plug and it's in the plug. Moving the pinpointer around and I see it slide out of the dirt. I knew what it was but it sure was bigger than the one I found Last Sunday. I did a lil dance and moved on. Pulled a couple coins out of the ground and had to go. On the way to the car, I get a low 50's tone. I thought I was through with them until fall but there it was in the hole. A Western Field 20 gage head stamp.... Really? I'll include a pic of the small ring from my last hunt. It only says Sterling on it, no 925. Also a pic of a medallion that has a picture of Fort Harrison on it. It was screaming a half dollar at me when it was under the coil. It is one of the things that keeps me busy trying to find out the history on it. Always something. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend when you get to it.
