Reportedly, there were four armed robbers plus a getaway driver, only three of whom were brought to justice. The gang of five were later stopped by police in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and initially fined only for carrying concealed weapons, but released while their possible connection to the robbery was further investigated.
Willie Fisher was subsequently identified as a participant and tracked down in Toledo, Ohio where he was found in possession of at least some of the cash (the actual amount is not specified in press reports). He admitted being the getaway driver and got a 13-15 year sentence (some sources say 17 years).
Cedar "Sam" Ross was also charged but maintained his innocence. His alibi was rejected in court following a dramatic last-minute submission of new evidence and he got a 10 year sentence. A man identified only by the surname “Booker” in court records was also found guilty of being an accomplice and lost the subsequent appeal against his conviction.
