Seeking Carlsbad, NM Treasure Tales/Legends

Anyone out there got anything juicy for a newbie with a hot-to-trot Ace 250 in Carlsbad, NM?? I'd love to have any and all info on local stuff. I've been finding coins and a ring or 2, but I dream of "The Big One".

Check your Reseach!
As you know there's a "River runs thought it" !
Anytime there's a river, Especially, out in that part of the country..
You'll find River Crossings, homesteads, old towns, indian sites ...
I know of several treasure tales, out there & up and down the river, in the mnts , No/So & E/W, of Carlsbad!
But!
It takes doing your area's historical reseach to know/find of them!

cptbil, yep. Research......and I've been doing lots of online searching, listening to tales and stories from some of the "seniors" out here and finding books to get, hopefully at the library. Thar's definitely gold in them thar hills....just gotta narrow down the locations, no?

I was hoping to get some info from some of the readers and serious treasure hunters here in the forums to steer me into some of the lesser known highways and byways and maybe about some of the not-so-well-known legends/tales around here. I've read some of the posts by you and a few others here and you guys are AWESOME in the amount and quality of information you have managed to accumulate (and sometimes will share).

And, to me (in my newbie, uninformed way of thinking) asking here in the forums about treasures around Carlsbad, NM IS doing research.
