Ive stumbled across a couple seperate accounts of this stone and I'm wondering if anyone has any more information than I have found.
What I know is in the late 1800's or early 1900's a man showed off a pale yellow 4ct cubic octahedron in the bar at trout lake.
One account states the stone was found in a placer operation in skamania county.
I see there is a diamond creek in skamania county, I do not know if it is associated with that find or just an arbitrary name.
I do know the dredge that was operated in the cowlitz river channel after the Mt St Helens eruption was equiped with a diamond recovery table, but I have no idea what was captured in that operation.
Any more information would be appreciated.
