sensitivity control

High as possible, Definitely Not. Moving the sens. up wards from the factory setting is a mistake as the detector is calibrated for the coil. Not all coils are the exact same so you could really mess things up by turning up the Sens to much. Also by turning it up, the coil sees more minerals under the coil and it actually gets less depth at some locations. The way to get more depth is with a larger coil. The detector is susceptible to outside interference this way with to high a setting. But you can experiment and see what happens.

It really depends on the location you are hunting. Turn the sensitivity up as high as you can without the detector getting chirpy or eratic. Some areas you can run higher sensitivity than others. If you are getting chatter or falsing turn it down a little until it runs smooth.

Sandman, I don't know what you mean by, set by the factory? The machines I have there is a knob with numbers 1 - 10, and I thought it is ok to adjust the knob up or down. And was wondering where they usually run their knob. I didn't know turning the knob all the way up can screwup the machine???
