What spot price will they pay? The day they recieve it, or the day they melt it?

Usually you get paid the percent of the spot price on the day they melt it, but it could be anytime really the way the market goes. ARA advertises they pay 98% which is 2% more than Midwest and ARA sends you back any non gold items and the stones.

Remember your scrap gold isn't pure so the amount of spot is going to be less depending on Karet weight.

ARA is excellent, I believe you can even ask them to melt on a certain date if you think gold will be up, but they pay off on melt day

They will pay based on what you ask.
A) settle when it is ready (most common)
B) call and lock in a price (what it is when they recieve it)
C) call and tell them to process and put in the safe (you call at another time of your choice and tell them to sell)
