Cool find. I don't think it is a real law enforcement badge because most of them have the name of the county, city, etc that they are responsible for. Another thing is most badges don't say badge on them....at least mine doesn't. Still a neat find. :thumbsup:
 

Being a sergeant in law enforcement myself, this is certainly not the real deal. Promotional make for the TV show undoubtedly. But, very cool nonetheless.

A true LEO badge, Sgt or otherwise, will be larger, very heavy, and marked on the back with more than likely the words Blackinton. It will also show the PD markings as well.

Hat badges, and wallet badges, are usually smaller. But not all PD's issue wallet badges... just 2 regular sized badges.

I had the feeling it wasn't real. To like to the feel, but the back is missing from it. Still very small and lite for a real one. A guy at work told that was Joe Fridays badge number. I'm like you guys and believe it was just a promo thing for Dragnet.
