Nice digs (scoops?) WTG on the ring and Franklin half, 1909 wheat. I could not get your pic to enlarge. I'd recommend posting up above in the MI Today's Finds so more see it

I can't imagine a 7 hour hunt...my arms were sore after the 3 hours I dug Sat. :tongue3:

No Wonder Muskegon seems picked over, Sturrat has cleaned up. Great Job Man, I hope you left some behind.

Great recoveries Sturrat. All those rings and that Franklin is neat to see. Great weather for your hunt too. 7 hrs.a heck of a hunt. Get all pruny after a while don,t cha? l.o.l..

Wow, nice to see people responding to this d thread. I remember that day well, water was low, perfect cut. Now the water is high and it's tough to find silver and gold. I regret not spending more time in the right areas because there was so much treasure to be found. U have only found four gold rings this year. A far cry from the 15 plus a year u found when the levels were low.

My only gold from this year. Winter hunting is my favorite

I am fairly new to this, about 3 years a little here a little there, but 15+ gold rings. I have alot to learn

Gotta dig a lot of crisp to find the good. Here is the results from a hunt yesterday around here. One silver nickel and five wheats. A lot of trash.

I have to work this weekend But I will dig more on my next day off. Trying to average x amount per day, tough sometimes working 12's. LOL I have some nice silver, but gold is still untouched. Sooner or later, I will find some. I HOPE

Nice digs . Thanks for the pics

If u want to shallow water hunt in the fall let me know. When all if the tourist pull their docks then it's time to hit the water

Sounds good If we can work it out. I am in the fruitport/Muskegon area for a reference point if that helps

I live just off the highway at m120. I hit mona lake a lot

I grew up in that area near meijers. Well where meijers is now... I still need to get in the water but dry land has been decent in the area's I have hit. I tried the park in the heights near the lake, alot of trash but I got through alot of it. Still need to try there a little more. I found a buffalo nickle in N. Muskegon at the beach, decent shape but I was quite happy.

Found a lot of good stuff at that park in the heights and at the state park in north muskegon. Keep hitting those areas and good stuff will come

K thanks, I have tues morning kinda staked out on the south end of town. Scouted a spot out last night I hope may pay off, It was packed with people and is in a great area. I'll see what the weather allows, but with the At Pro the weather doesn't matter quite as much as in the past.

Side Question, hip boots or waders? Does it make much of a difference? I need to get in the water and was considering the hip boots to start

I wear waders that are thick so I can go all winter. I also have heated gloves.
