I went back to the Union Civil War camp with VOL1266X on Wednesday of this week. We both made some pretty good finds. Vol has already posted his on Treasure Net. This is our seventh trip to the site. The first thing I found was a complete knap-sack hook. Then I found a .54 caliber and a Merrill carbine bullet. We were digging "iffy" signals and I dug a couple of .32 caliber round pistol balls. I hit one good sounding iron object and dug up a round iron canister shot. This is the first one I have ever found. I also dug up a couple of pieces of lead canister shot. The first picture shows some of what I found on Wednesday. The second picture is everything I have found from that Union camp, so far. Thanks for looking.

I hunt for coins around house sites in the summer and civil war relics in the fall and winter. Relic hunting is different from coin hunting. I usually have a lot of targets around house sites but I may go for an hour before digging a relic. If I find 5 good relics in four hours hunting a civil war site I feel like I had a good hunt. I would rather find one civil war bullet as a silver Washington quarter any day, but that's just me.

Great finds  You're Dman ;D
and very cool display, I must say.

What is the bullet immediately below the knap-sack hook?

The one below the knapsack hook in the first picture is a .54 Cal. and in the second picture is a fired .58 cal. bullet.

Fantastic finds, Dman! Thanks for posting. I've learned so much from you and others that take the time to post! :)

Nana
