Managed to get out for just over 4 hours with only being rained on once...
Started as usual on The Potato Field for Cru'dad's Birthday (not today but this week) Hunt & he got the first hammered on his 2nd dig, whilst on our way to the grid spot. Normally the kiss of death, but today the kiss of life, as I got a further 3 hammered.

The Potato Field (3 hours):

17th C Halfpenny Token
Jetton
Spur bit
Bit of a Tudor Dagger Chape
1/2 Spec Buckle
Saxon Stirrup Terminal (we hoped for this as we have had 1 mount & 1 terminal from that area, & now we have the full set. I thought the whole stirrup must of busted off & got lost)
14th C Medieval Seal Matrix - Has a curled up mouse, inscription reads - WAROMEI TOMON :icon_scratch: (Strange name)
4 Hammered:
1/2 Reale of Ferdinand and Isabella, c.1469-1502
Edward I Penny
Henry VI Halfpenny
Charles I Penny

Sewage Site (1 hr 15 mins):

3 Tudor Buttons
Broken Medieval Buckle
18th C Pastry Jigger
17th C Belt Mount

Super!!! Congrats!!!

excellent finds. always love the coins but the seal matrix is cool

Spanish silver. Nothing you can get every day. Must been a while.... Congrats!
Weird thing is, if you get a spanish silver it's most likely a F&I coin. :dontknow: Outstanding day with four hammereds and the seal!

Yeap, Oct 2016.

All I want is a cob:happysmiley:

Love the seal matrix and that nice hammered penny!

Love to see the medieval seal matrix restored....and used again. :)

Cru' would love to see the medieval seal matrix restored....have you restored any? It would be cool to use it again...always look forward to seeing what you have unearthed

I have a general rule of never restoring anything I find, other than straightening the odd Georgian Silver Spoon or straighten the odd gold/silver coin. So no, I haven't messed with any, although with proper wax it would work OK as it is.

It was a great day of digging getting 4 silvers and the seal, congrats.

A belated "Happy Birthday to Cru'dad" :occasion14:

Wow ... great finds !
Is it OK if I fly to England and stay in your basement for a while ? :tongue3:

Your have to dig the basement first....lol

Don't forget, digging a basement in your area could be an improvement to any vacation....
Well you know how I like a test pit in my neighbours gardens....

That's a great way to celebrate a birthday!

One day i'm gonna find one of these...one day. Congrats mate

You will, just find the right ploughed field & make sure you GRID & not wander.:metaldetector:
I'm trying to spread my new catch phrase:
''GRID ON BABY''
(a little like Fish On!)
