Sharing Worked Flake ... comments

This flake was found in Montana. If anyone had any comments I'd appreciate it. I was thinking that it is knife river flint. Looks purplish in light. Black otherwise. Thanks for any information.

I'd say that you have an obsidian flake there, it does not look to be worked as a knife. I usually find those spent flakes in and around possible camp sites. Generally the material was brought out of the Yellowstone Park area. You may want to occasionally recheck the area after a good rain.
