Hi there--

I have found some shark teeth on the Delmarva peninsula-- Maryland. Is this at all common? I know all about Calvert's Cliffs, but not so much out here. I can take close-ups, if anyone's interested. Big one is maybe meg? Some snaggle-tooth teeth... and some mysteries.

Thanks for looking! Yak

Cool stuff the big one might be a Meg but considering your location could easily be an Angustiden.. The others look like Mako upper and lower and probably sand tiger.

Here's what I have for examples on my phone at the moment.

Thanks Gator-- I'll try to get some close-ups, but your prob. right. But why would Calvert's Cliff offer Megs and not the (now, but not 'then') peninsula? Just curious. People around here are really cagey about their finds, so I've heard stories of old folks looking for shark teeth, but haven't seen any. Pics to come. (I suffer the same issue as you at the moment- with only a phone camera...) Yak

Your area should have Megolodon as well as Angustiden.
Looking closely at yours it seems like I see where a cusp has broken off.

yakker - delmarva is full to the brim with sharks teeth. Very nice finds. I've also read (can't cite the source though) that it has the highest concentration of Clovis artifacts in the US, if you're into that.

Thanks for the info Twitch. And I am into the points thing- and have found a paleo- but not a Clovis point. And I continue to look... like today... I need to get out of this office.... More snow possible on Mon. I think I've had enough snow for the year... Cheers! Yak

I'll send y'all some warm thoughts.. And this photo I took yesterday morning
