I wish i could have seen how big my eyes got
I was at a bank I frequent, especially for my business and they know I ask for coin. I was at a tellers window getting a cashiers check, when the merchant teller comes over and asks how my 4 month old son is doing. She has a 5 month old son of her own and we've been checking in on each other, sharing stories.
After a nice conversation I ask, like usual, if she has any halves, she says no but...I've got some silver and wheat, I'll split it with you.
She drops behind the counter and says give me $21. I said are you sure... You don't have to do that. She said she didn't mind sharing and was happy to hand over 4 solid rolls of dimes and 2 sold rolls of wheat cents.
I didn't ask what else was back there, but I know at least 4 more rolls of silver dimes and some wheat cents. I was just greatful she was willing to sell me what she did.
I've had some great luck with tellers saving me silver... Gotta build those relationships with the tellers! And not just for silver... Most are great people.
In total 198 silver Rosie's (one roll two short). Lots of '60-64 d mint marks. Also my first solid roll for dimes and cents.... Just need the nickels now. Did get a '55 needed for the album. The wheats were all post '40, with a hole fillers 55s.
