Detector(s) used
Minelab SE and Sunray probe
I stopped off at a buddies house today to do some detecting. He lives in an older 1900ish house and is said to once be a school. I spent about an hour and a half on the front easement only and pulled up a few keepers. I decided to give the excelerator a shot at it, and it did pretty well I think. I started by digging some clad here and there around 4 to 5in and was blessed with the occasional wheatie. After about 6 wheaties, I finally pulled up a merc at about 5 to 6in. I then dug a silver thimble at about 6in. A few more wheaties and an indian head later, I dug another merc that was apparently used as target practice back in the day. You can tell plane as day that it was a victim of a BB-gun attack! Not a bad shot for hitting a dime! The lock gave me a deep scare at about 8in or so. I plan on going back tomorrow for a little while if it doesn't rain on me.
The wheaties were...
1918, 2-1942 D's, holed 1944 D, 1945, 1955 D, 2-1958 D's
The indian is a 1902 and the two mercs were 1936 and a sweet 1916 S.
