Shelter digs

[NC field hunter]

This coming Sunday, I'll be going on my first shelter dig. I have read into this a little, but only gathered the basics. Any info. you guys are willing to hand out, on this type of hunting would be greatly appreciated. My main question is how deep do I start digging, or do I basically scrape, rather than dig? Also, should I start at the drip line or the entrance, or the back and work toward the drip line? Thanks for any help!

Look in and out and think how and where they might of kept or made points or cooked. That is what I would do if I ever tried this type of thing. I dont like close quarters so I wouldnt be of any help. I would probably dig outside of it, lol
