Vacationing past week in Valley at 1806 Inn. The owners bought it and restored to a B&B. Previous owners went bankrupt and property was foreclosed. Sat empty and property was detected by many.
Current owners detect some and found old axe head and slave shackle. They had not found any coins or buttons or intact bottles.
I was granted permission to detect anywhere I wanted.
One evening I decided to try around the carriage house.
I found 2 axe heads, carriage leaf springs?, file, spike, clock part, large pin, bottle, toy gun cylinder part, Merry Widows condom tin, 2 wheat pennies 1916 and 1928, 1961D Lincoln penny.
The owners couldn?t believe I found 2 more axe heads but especially like the 1916 wheat since that was the year the Carriage house was built. They are planning on restoring the Carriage house next.
Next morning day of checkout they showed me old dump area in side yard so I detected here and all around original 1806 Inn.
I found a large heart shaped mirror/picture holder?, lipstick tube gold plated?, key, insulator, bottle, piece of tea cup that was previous owners pattern, 2 Lincoln pennies, 69, 74? And a tombac button with intact drilled shank.
They were so interested and due to historical connection to many items I gave them everything and they were very greatfull.
There is definitely lots more there!
