got this from a teller--- it was a machine reject.
the missing plating is just the start.
coin was bent, so a quick slam between oak boards fixed that.
BUT---- the diameter is .807 inch vs. normal .75 inch. weighs 2.5 grams. rim is present on both sides and relief of details appears normal. no evidence of plating being chemically removed and coin has same grey color of a '43 steel but it is not magnetic.
