Cool topic Bent-Twig. I have quite a few translucent points, but not a lot of pictures of them. Here's a few I have. Three of these are points and one is a killer Paleo Uniface Blade made of a very high quality unknown flint. The last point is pictured in the frame in the upper right corner. It is a Hopewell point made from Moss Agate that I found on a Ft Ancient village site. It was probably found by the later culture and kept as a prized possession.
I agree. Photographing a translucent point is not an easy task. I can get a good picture once and a bad one next. I envy the folks who really know their camera. Here's a few more from my collection.
If I hold it just right in front of our spotlights down in the man cave I can get a really good shot, I will photograph a few tonight, this is not one of those but a nice lil Moss Agate relic.
A word of advice, if you point your Digits or any camera directly at the sun, it can cause lots of damage to the lens, causing it not to function correctly. make sure the sun is left or right of the lens, thats what I do, mine turn out ok.
