Back on March 1st, my son took me to a new site that he did rather well at and on that day I found a couple very old coins, but also found two Naval Buttons, that turned out after cleaning to be 1820 era NA86A buttons.
This week he went back to the site and found a tombac button and this really neat Watch Key! I have seen some nice ones on the web, but this is one of the neatest ones I have seen yet. I think it is not offically Naval but I would be willing to think that the Watch Key was probably lost by the same individual who lost those two Naval buttons. Perhaps I am wrong, but I think a 1820 era date for this watch key is most likely very appropriate.
Any additional info on this type of watch key appreciated.
I included my two previous Naval button finds in the photo with his watch key for comparison.
