Ship Bell?

A friend purchased a Bell with some corrosion on it. It's about fifteen pounds, made of bronze.
The inscription on it reads....CANCSELECUER FONDEUR 1878 with a crest of a eagle with the
wings down and has a Spanish cross on it. The top of it has a square hole where it was used to mount it.
We don't know if it was a school house or a ship bell. I know this is probably useless without a photo
but any info would be greatly appreciated.

You need to check the spelling of the first word.
