Short Civil War hunt Satuday with friends.

Met up with hunting buddies Mike (Woodland Detectors), Guy (tnrelicman) and Sham (Shamborelics) to hunt a field we have been hunting. After reading a diary about the camp and how they moved it up a hill to get out of the winter weather we decided to walk up and hunt the hill. It did not take long to find the campsite as there was old square nails everywhere. They used wood huts back then. Right away Mike finds two buttons. I found a pocketknife and part of a bayonet blade and old fork. We all found some great finds before the heat just wore us down and the ground was pretty hard from lack of rain. Over all we found buttons, bullets and other relics. The picture of the buttons is what Mike found.

Have I seen this? Yep mike has posted them. Good hunt and good job on finding the camp, the diarys will put you on the spot you just have to think the same way they did.

I'll tell you what, I really enjoyed our trip Saturday, and we will have to get back and hunt soon. Thanks for a great time everyone.

As I might expect Randy, the 4 veteran relic hunters had some great finds again. I pity poor Mike as he's taking "the Jinx" Modern Miner hunting today. Maybe you can drive over and bail them out-LOL. Great finds, Quindy.

LOL! Doug hurt his back Quindy, and it rained all day. We will be going soon...We still have to get out on one of our own hunts very soon!

It was a pleasure hunting as always Mike. I do believe that campsite has a lot more to be found. The ground shouldn't be as hard next time.

Thanks Quindy. Wow!!! And he brought rain with him. We really need it as the field was very dry and hard to dig in some areas. I hate digging buttons in hard soil.
