Despite the intermittent rain Friday evening, I made a short trip to the farm for a hunt. The ground was much wetter than my last hunt and digging was primo. Didn't turn up anything great but was content with a 1924 Wheatie....inching closer to that elusive IH. Also found a 1997 quarter that looked much older. Any ideas on what the engine (?) part is on the front right? It is threaded on the narrow end. The homeowner also got a kick out of the Wheatie since 1924 was the year he was born. (in Italy.) :)

Had to laugh, when I pulled out the nice, unbroken Mason jar lid out my 7YO son quickly asked, "Is it a Ball?" (jar) Gotta love 'em!

HH all.

Except for a 1910 wheat( my oldest coin thus far), all my other wheats are like from 1942-1958. I'd love some from the 10's,20's,30's.

It rained here too, but I still got out swinging. Don't know 'bout that dohicky. I find lots of stuff I can't id. All junk of course.

Good luck,
HH.

Glad to see you got out Anne  I didn't go cause by the time I got out of work it was raining raining, maybe Monday by the looks of the forecast here unless I put on a rainsuit and use my beach Hunter I.D. ;D

The small part looks to be a Grease Cup...common farm machinery part for continuous greasing.

Nice digs! But believe if I get any swinging in I'll have to be in scuba gear!

Yes, it is MUCH wetter today. I think we got very lucky as it was misting when I drove there. It quit for 1.5 hours then started back up around 8 p.m. when we were ready to leave. It was getting too dark to MD anyway.

Where was all this rain last month when my garden needed it? :icon_scratch:

Waterlogged in the Northern Lower too!

The ground should be good and soft for a while now!

Good Luck!
Mark

I always love to get those old farm relics and whatsits, kinda makes ya think about what the people did back in the day. As far as the rain goes, we needed it bad! I got killer blisters from trying to dig and am thanking God for the relief. It laso will help your machine find stuff a little deeper so we get double good luck when it rains :) You keep up the great work Anne, I see big finds in your not to distant future!

happy hunting
