went out yesterday for a short hunt (Hot Hour). First good signal was this 2 sous. the 2 sous was from the colony of cayanne. French Guiana
they used to call these Blackdogs or Dogs back in the day. i believe this one is 1779 or 1789 it has the best detail out of the ones i've found.
also found this flat button with the anchor on it , I think its pretty cool.

Those are a couple sweet finds!

a black dog :icon_scratch: very nice and the anchor button is a beauty .. an island to hunt for stuff is cool :icon_sunny: 8)

Very good finds. Good going.

Both are good finds.

The coin is most likely just a Two Sous. To be a Black Dog it has to be struck over a French Sou Marque and that was most common on the 1782. The Term Black Dog was based on the billon Sou turning black so if your coin does not use it as an undertype it elimates it.. meaning it was struck on a blank planchet. So I guess you might have to call it a Brown Dog. :-X

Very nice finds

Great finds! Not the usual colonial stuff we are used to seeing here in the forums!
