My intention yesterday was to walk the perimeter of a new field and make my way to an old colonial house site. 10 minutes in I was directed by some guys to a patch of pines along a ridge where they said there's been a lot of Civil War finds pulled out over the years. I'm mainly a colonial relic guy but I figured I placate them and walk over there. Once I got close I started to pick up iron and eyeball tons of brick. Right off the bat I pulled out a Colt bullet then a couple of sharps (thanks for the ID Metalev4). Next popped out an 1860 fatty IH and then a silver three cent piece. I decided to grid a small area and eyeballed the bottle spout and other glass pieces.....this has to be a camp. Not too long after I asked by the property owner to help his son find some property markers. This property is enormous but I was able to find most of the key markers he was looking for which will hopefully earn me a couple of return trips of which I would like to dig out some potential camp pits.
