Called Friday night for permission to hunt another site and was told to hunt anywhere I like. All of my hunting partners were unable to hunt so I tried going alone for a little bit. Well with it being deer season I decided to stay out of the woods even though that was where I really wanted to hunt. So I opted for the open pasture near an 1800's house. This area was used by Ohio and Mass. during the war. One thing I found out about the TDI is that it loves brass. After a couple deep shotgun hulls I got another loud high tone. It was a very nice Spencer shell casing. And after that I found a hook thingamajig. If anyone knows what it is please let me know. Wish I had more time but will go back after deer season and hit the woods as I know there will be tons of stuff in there.

Randy, the mystery item looks like the broken handle from scissors or shears. That's my guess and I'm sticking to it-LOL. After deer season, you might dig an OVM plate in the woods. Cartridge looks good and solid. HH, Quindy.

Thanks Quindy. That was my first guess on the mystery item as well. I am pretty sure there is a camp in the woods as we have found bullets and buttons on top of the hill but never hunted the bottom of the back side and the owner said she has found a lot of buttons there right after they cleared a bunch of trees lately. Cartridge was very nice. I have dug a lot of flattened burnsides here but this was the first one in good shape.
