In my particular rural area the garmin maps are obsolete. Alot of the info is. They are using maps that are 100 years old or more along with some kind of aerial mapping that is placing roads where there are only farm driveways. It routes me down a road at the end of my road that hasn't been there in at least 80 years. At first I was pissed. Then I thougt about it and this is a great research tool. And it will put me within a few feet of all those long abandoned roads. Allowing me to trace them and find the old homesites.
The drawback is that anyone using one to get to my house from a southerly direction will have a problem. Especially if they take the one seasonal road in the winter time.
