Found the shoulder scales on Wednesday, the rest this afternoon. This is definitely the biggest bullet I've found, a 69 cal. maybe? It's also the second pulled bullet I've found in this area. The other one is the center bullet (third pic) I found it last weekend. Sure was hoping the shoulder scales was a plate, such a nice deep signal.... oh well. I'm fairly certain at least one of these finials is from a cartridge box. I've seen some depressions that seem to indicate someone has metal detected here before but if they missed this many easy targets, maybe not. I'll get a few more hours there tomorrow, and some decent pics of the site. -C

Nice digs... Hey.. shoulder scales, entact are as good as a plate!! Does it have the long brass piece on the back that connected to the uniform?? I have been digging 20 years.. lots of cam;s and I only have 2.. and only one is all together... so.. I put that up there with a plate...

Man Chopper, you are on fire at your new place. Nice finds.

Not only did you find the whole scale, but you found part of the scale button and the escutcheon too!

Well done!

If you ever find a tiny thin piece of brass with three holes on each side, save it! It is a scale slide. (see the last photo below) :) You've found all the rest of one, so that piece should be there too.
