Don't have a button book, but it says buttons displaying that backmark are "believed to be" 1870's.. Company opened in 1850 so even "relicman" is guessing unless he's got info we don't know about.
 
That title got This Virginia Boy's interest!

Relicman's site is right on the money. Each old number from Albert, with a corresponding number from Tice is listed. The description is probably copied word for word from Tice.

Great button find , Latin phrase meaning "thus always to tyrants". It is sometimes mistranslated as "death to tyrants". It is most known as the official motto of Virginia :icon_thumright:
