Sidcane and I got out for a little while today and I managed to pick up a couple neat things. We also found a few nice flat buttons.

Beardogs got the cool stuff today. He tried to make me feel better saying I got a nice artillery button but I'm not buying it. CONGRATS ON YOUR FIRST REALE!🤣
Lol! Still a cool artillery button and nice pewters. Thanks Bud! Looks like a couple Cap Busts for next weekend.

Dude, that is an awesome button!

What's a whizzer?
Colonial kids toy. Usually made from a large cent. drill two holes and run string through and when the kids pull the strings, it goes whiz-whiz-whiz.

My friend and I used to make those back in the 1950's so they aren't just colonial kids toys!

Congratulations on the cool finds, Beardog52!

Thank you, I learn something new every day. 🙂

Significant date real! (I assume it's a 1 real, can't be sure because no size and can't read the reverse lettering). Great coin anyway. The whizzer looks like lead and could have be made from a musket ball. Hard to tell its size.

The Reale is a 1/2 Reale and yes the whizzer is lead. Never seen a whizzer with a face. We have found lots of military, and flat buttons on this site so I’m assuming the whizzer was made by a bored soldier.

That whizzer has got to be one of the coolest colonial relics I have seen posted here.
gwdigger if only it could tell it’s story. I thought it was pretty cool, and definitely one of my favorites off of the colonial site we are hunting. Kept getting mixed signals and didn’t give up on it. After digging several square nails I finally got the whizzer out of the hole and was stoked when I saw what it was.
